On Halloween it was believed that ghosts came back to the earthly world. People thought that they would encounter ghosts if they left their homes after dark. So to avoid being recognized by the ghosts they would wear masks in the hope that they would be mistaken for fellow spirits.

As a part of the spirit of this years MAD Ball we ask that you wear a mask to the event.

All proceeds will go directly to The Clown Doctors - an organisation that brings smiles to the faces of thousands of sick children and their families in Australian hospitals each and every year.

Before you head out on this mysterious night, walk around the house three times backwards before sunset to dispel all evil. Step out of the comfort of your home into the darkness but beware of monsters and bats lurking in the shadows, witches cackling and the howl of wolves in the full moon.  But remember if you hear footsteps behind you on the evening of Halloween... don’t turn back.
